For many people, the start of a new year is a time for reflection, for looking back on the year that has just gone by and looking forward to the year ahead. In fact, the month of January was named for the Roman god Janus, the god of transitions and new beginnings, who was generally depicted as having two faces, each facing in the opposite direction from the other, so that one looked backward to the past and the other looked forward to the future. The start of a new year provides us with the opportunity to take stock of our lives and decide on the best way forward, based on how we have performed over the past year.
At AlfredHouse boutique homes, we take the start of a new year with renewed commitment to serve. We look back on the past year to assess our performance, and we look ahead to the coming year with renewed vigor and commitment. We are proud to say that in 2016, with the help of our dedicated staff, we provided our residents with the best possible care and the love and attention they so richly deserve. It is with pride I declare, AlfredHouse boutique homes have been free of deficiency for 2016, 2015, and also 2014 according to OHCQ standards. However, we realize that there is no room for complacency, and there is always room for improvement. As we launch into 2017, we are grateful for what we were able to accomplish in 2016, and we renew our commitment not only to upholding the highest standards, but also to constantly look for ways to improve our services and enhance the quality of life of our residents. We are enthusiastic and excited about the new residence, AlfredHouse Symphony and related opportunities that the New Year brings, we pledge to take maximum advantage of these opportunities as we plan for the year ahead.
We wish all our patrons and the members of the communities we serve a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Warmly,
Veena J. Alfred, Ph.D.
